Lasagna
Description
This classic lasagna is a comforting, hearty dish that combines layers of tender pasta, rich meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and melted mozzarella. Baked to golden perfection, it’s ideal for family dinners or meal prepping. The blend of herbs and slow-simmered tomato sauce gives it deep, satisfying flavor in every bite.
Ingredients
- 12 lasagna noodles (oven-ready or boiled)
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a pan, cook ground beef until browned; drain fat and mix with marinara sauce.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta, egg, half the Parmesan, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce. Add 3 noodles, then a layer of ricotta mix, followed by mozzarella and more sauce. Repeat layers.
- Top with final noodles, remaining sauce, and cheeses.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake 10 more minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let rest 10 minutes before serving.
